I have been receiving a lot of emails regarding the fact that I have disabled the screensavers and wallpapers. The reason is simple. My web host limits the amount of files that I can transfer each month. On April 14, Emazing.com listed SmokyPhotos as the internet tip of the day, and since that time, I nearly brought the server down with too much traffic. There are other businesses that rely on the server, so I politely and voluntarily removed the free items.
SmokyPhotos is my personal site. It is my gift to the world. I have over ten thousand dollars of my own money tied up in the site, the purpose of which is to promote awareness of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
I have reactivated one screensaver and I will reactivate some of the features as soon as I determine that I will not adversely affect my host or others that use the server. In the meantime, please take a moment to join the Friends of the Smokies and really do something to help the Park! Also, buy your Smoky Mountain books from the Great Smoky Mountains Natural History Society. Be sure to tell them that SmokyPhotos sent you!
